Abyss

Fear of the abyss was greatest amongst those who thought they were nearest to the edge. for the insecure lower middle class, or the respectable working class the abyss was a non-site. to be there was not to be atall, to have no shape to cast no shadow, to slip out of the defining structures of society and become invisible.
